Empowering People | Advocate for an Equitable and Fair Research Culture
With over a decade in Science Management, I empower scientists and teams to thrive in the ever-evolving research landscape. Passionate about fostering a positive research culture, I coordinate the Mentoring Program at the University of Luxembourg and work as a freelance Consultant, Mentor, and Coach.
My mission is to support people and teams to fulfill their potential, being my kids, clients or colleagues. As a dedicated advocate for a research culture that supports both people and scientific advancement, I’m on a quest to contribute to developing thriving research environments and promoting a mentoring culture and collaborative learning. I’ve had the privilege of working with extraordinary people in diverse international academic settings.
My journey started with a curious mind and an interest in biomedicine: I hold a PhD in Biology from ITQB-UNL, with research conducted at the Rockefeller University in New York, NY, USA. Over the years, I’ve honed my expertise in scientific training and mentoring, working at international research institutes to shape research training programs: iMM (Lisboa, Portugal); and Vienna BioCenter (Vienna, Austria).
Beyond my current roles, I am actively engaged in professional networks that support research and career development. I serve as an Expert for the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission. I’m also a member of the EMCC Luxembourg (European Mentoring and Coaching Council), the CARE network (Career Advisors Supporting Researchers in Europe), and the MCAA (Marie Curie Alumni Association), fostering collaborations and knowledge sharing within global communities.
