About the campus
An ambitious current urban renewal project
Belval Campus is the University of Luxembourg’s main site. Close to Esch-surAlzette, Luxembourg’s second largest city, Belval combines research with teaching and urban life with leisure activities. Once home to Luxembourg’s largest steelworks, this site now features research and learning facilities, the University library and learning centre as well as student accommodation. The campus is located at the centre of an urban district and has excellent connection to public transportation.

Life at Belval Campus

Multilingual teaching and international atmosphere
Sport activities with qualified professional trainers, and art and painting workshops are free of charge and open to students and staff. You can find guided tours, excursions, study trips and exhibitions.
Off-Campus, Belval is a lively city area of Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg’s second largest town, offering plenty of options for entertainment, dining, shopping and recreational activities.

How to get to Belval Campus
Due to rail works, train travel is currently disrupted. To plan your journey, please visit mobiliteit.lu
A cycle path runs south of Belval Campus and many pedestrian areas have been developed between the main streets. Bicycle parking facilities are available across campus. Bicycle shelters are available at the BelvalUniversité train station.
Vël’OK bicycles are available 24/7 all year round. Four stations are currently located at strategic places on
campus: Belval Train Station, Rockhal, Belval Porte de France and Lycée Bel-Val.

Direct trains run from Luxembourg Central Station (Gare de Luxembourg) to the Belval-Université station every 15 minutes. The trains run via Esch-sur-Alzette

Outdoor parking areas and underground car parks are available throughout the campus, particularly P+R Belval Université (in French).
Parking for people with reduced mobility (students, visitors)
PRM parking spaces are available in the 3rd basement of the Maison du Savoir underground car park. Please register at the guard post by taking a ticket at the barriers. Even if the visitor car park is advertised as ‘full’, access to the PRM spaces is guaranteed at all times. The doors to basement -3 are equipped with an automatic opening system providing access to the lift.
Parking in PRM spaces is authorised subject to possession of a valid disabled parking card (grand-ducal regulation of 31 January 2003).
Payment for parking must be made at the cash desks provided (ground floor of the Maison du Savoir Tower).
