    Belval Campus, Blast furnaces and Cité des Sciences

    Belval Campus

    Take part in a guided tour of the Belval campus and get to know the University’s infrastructure and the leisure facilities spread across campus.

    The visit lasts 30 minutes.

    Blast furnace and City of Science

    Enter the science park (Cité des Sciences) and then go to the blast furnace, where you will get an overview of the history of steel production and the transformation of the industrial wasteland into a contemporary neighbourhood with remarkable architecture and urbanism.

    The visit lasts 45 minutes.

    Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC)

    Take part in a guided tour of the Luxembourg Learning Centre to discover how to find your way around the library. You will discover the work spaces and services to help you succeed in your university studies. The visit lasts 30 minutes.

    MEDIACentre

    Guided tour of the MEDIACentre

    The MEDIACentre is a place which hosts various media related actors in a cosy, inspiring, yet technical environment. But it’s the home to a team dealing with media production and consulting, a team of E-Learning experts, lab R&D specialists, the IT team of the MSH and the faculty’s communication experts.

    Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) – Discover our research!

    Visit the LCSB booth and learn about research! And to take a look behind the scene, you can always join one of our lab tours!

    Intestinal microbiome – artificial gut

    Visit the Systems Ecology lab and discover how researchers study the human microbiome and its impact on our health. Using Humix, an in vitro model of the human gut, scientist can explore how microbes interact with the human body, providing valuable insights into diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

    Chasing unknown chemicals and their effects

    The mix of chemicals we are exposed to is incredibly complex, and figuring out how they affect us is complicated. Scientists in the Environmental Cheminformatics group are like detectives, hunting for unknown chemicals in our environment and our bodies to better understand their effects on human health. Discover their lab!

    Discover brain organoids

    Visit the lab of the Developmental and Cellular Biology group to learn how they generate three-dimensional cell cultures to study neurodegenerative diseases. These brain organoids, derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells, mimic specific parts of the human brain and help researchers understand pathological mechanisms at the cellular and molecular level.

    The visit lasts 1 hour.
