Abstract

Flows of goods and services are at the core of how economic prosperity is created. The flow of goods and services are also at the core of carbon emissions. The design and operations of supply chains are instrumental to create prosperity and lower the carbon footprint. There is often a focus on the emissions associated with transportation emissions. In the first part of this talk, we discuss how transportation can be planned to reduce carbon emissions. In the second part, we discuss how and when total emissions can be reduced by using more transportation.
