Exemption
Exemptions may be granted in certain cases. The various cases are listed below (these may be subject to change).
Exemptions are not automatic; they must be requested as soon as possible from the mobility contact person in your faculty, with supporting documents as required.

Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE)
According to article 27, paragraph 1 of the Study Regulations, an exemption to the obligation for students to complete a mobility period may be granted by the Rector on the advice of the Study Programme Director for students who:
- have obtained a certificate indicating the completion of at least four semesters of university studies at a higher education institution abroad which is recognised by the relevant authorities in that country;
- have received at least thirty (30) ECTS credits or equivalent from a higher education institution abroad which is recognised by the relevant authorities in that country. The credits must be validated by the procedure set out in article 33, paragraph 2, of the Act;
- have a medical condition which requires specific treatment or a disability which significantly limits their mobility;
- have family obligations which prevent them from leaving home for an extended period;
- are third country nationals with a secondary school leaving certificate issued in a third country.
Supporting documents to be provided for the cases detailed above:
- a copy of the certificate obtained at a higher education institution abroad
- a transcript of records showing that you have obtained at least 30 ECTS credits in the same field of study at a higher education institution abroad. These ECTS credits must have been recognised in advance by the Study Programme Director via the “recognition of prior learning/experience” procedure
- a medical certificate indicating that your state of health requires special treatment and/or that you have a disability that prevents you from completing a mobility period
- a document attesting to your family situation (household composition certificate, etc.)
- a secondary school certificate obtained in a country outside the European Economic Area.
