Their Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess visited the University campus alongside Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education.

The Hereditary Couple began with a guided tour of the University’s Media Centre, on the theme of disinformation and artificial intelligence. For the occasion, an avatar of the Hereditary Grand Duke was created in the newly inaugurated studios.

After a presentation of the University of Luxembourg and its future by Rector Prof. Jens Kreisel, the royal couple had an open discussion with students of political and social sciences about modern monarchy and the lieutenancy.

Their Royal Highnesses then discovered the highly symbolic Luxembourg Learning Centre at the heart of the Belval campus, which combines modernity and industrial heritage, before accompanying Prof. Michael Heneka to his laboratory dedicated to research into neurodegenerative diseases, at the Luxembourg Centre For Systems Biomedicine (LCSB).

Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank the staff and students of the University for their welcome and this enriching visit, which once again confirms the importance of the University as a centre of research and education in Luxembourg”
